If you are looking for a straight forward soultion to how to deal with craving food – I’d have to say just stop eating in large portions but is this really it?. I have heard this line so many times before and used to say it a lot at my work place, while watching some of my friends eat, at home, at parties. I would like to spend some time and write about food cravings.
Let start by saying that eating a lot does not consequentially lead to cravings for food or weight gain but it is the choice of food you find yourself eating. Cravings for food are increased when eating some certain types of foods i.e. some type of food stimulates and increases them and eating another type of food might help them. This “good” food has the power to enable you to stop your cravings. Let me make an example here, you can choose to take some vitamins in order to stop them such as B vitamins – also known as b-vitamins. The B-complex vitamins can be found in liver, nuts, leafy green vegetables, rice, milk, eggs, meats, fish and whole-grain cereals fruits.
It follows then that food cravings are by and large caused by chemical imbalances in our body system and so by eating the right foods with the right nutrients will enable your body to access the necessary ingredients to help it function normally and thus help restore chemical imbalances. For example, to curb PMS cravings, I usually recommend the following, watch your emotional triggers that provoke your cravings, you can also improve your mood by excercising, each time you feel a bit hungry or just desiring food just drink a glass of water also find some better foods that you can eat in stead of your usual junk food for example, eat chocolates that have not fat.
